A biological basis for high-risk behavior in teens? Understanding that the teenage brain is continuing to develop can help you better appreciate why your teen can’t explain their erratic behavior. Instead of asking “Why did you do that?”, try asking open-questions that will help them think through the situation. This could be something like “What did you hope would happen what did when you did that (instead of what did)?”
